The route for the procession takes it from the Adelphi roundabout – near the University of Central Lancashire campus – down Friargate towards the city centre.

It then cuts left into the Ringway and comes round to the junction with Lancaster Road.

From there it comes down Lancaster Road, and turns right before the Town Hall and comes down the side of the Market.

Torchbearers make their way into Birley Street and across the Flag Market, past Miller Arcade and turn right into Fishergate.

They make their way along Fishergate before turning right into Corporation Street – taking care not to hit the Fishergate bollard.

Where can I park?

All car parks are open as normal, but keep in mind the road closures above. Allow plenty of time to get in position along the route.

We’d recommend the Bus Station, as Tithebarn Street isn’t affected by the procession and you can access from further up the Ringway.

Another good option is Walker Street.

What about the buses?

There are a number of diversions on bus routes in the city. You can see a breakdown from Preston Bus of each route affected.
