Branded as InTheCity the University of Central Lancashire has been expanding its events programme.
Technology workshops, upcycling furniture days, knitting and drop in sessions are taking place.
UCLan engagement and outreach officer Lee Macneall said: “The InTheCity initiative is a great project for the community to engage with. Over the coming months, the shop space will see a range of different community events takin place to help benefit the strong bonds between the University and the people of Preston.
“A major aspect of the two room space is that the community can hire this space for free, helping keep event costs down and pennies in people’s pockets. The project is all about giving back and we’re extremely excited to get started.”
