Late-night drivers in Preston are being warned of partial closure of one of the main roads in the city.
AdvertisementA section of New Hall Lane is to see lane closures for two nights while an anti-skid coating is put down on the tarmac.
It follows the news two weeks of roadworks are to see New Hall Lane taken down to one lane for a stretch near St Matthew’s Church of England Primary School.
The overnight closures take place from the junction with London Road (the A6) to Adelaide Street.
They run from 8pm to 6am on Tuesday 30 August and Wednesday 31 August.
Temporary traffic signals are due to be in place to direct traffic around the works at the junction with London Road – with drivers able to make their way along New Hall Lane but directed where they can and can’t go.

Highways manager for the county council Ridwan Musa said: “We’re sorry for any disruption to people’s journeys while this vital work takes place.
“However, I would ask people to be aware of the potential for delays in this area and to allow more time for their journeys while this work is carried out.”
