A pedestrian remains in a critical condition in hospital after a major crash on the M6 near Preston.

The M6 was shut for nearly four hours while emergency services with the incident near Charnock Richard service station.

The motorway was closed southbound after a male in his teens had been involved in a collision with a vehicle.

Highways England shut the motorway at Junction 28 southbound near Leyland.

Motorists were reporting delays back to Junction 32 for Broughton on the southbound side.
