Leyland Road in Lostock Hall was closed for four hours on Sunday (7 August).

Four cars were involved in a collision at the junction with Coote Lane at around 3pm.

A Renault Grande Scenic was heading south when it was involved in a collision with a Hyundai Tucson.

Preston Police say the Hyundai was pushed forward and collided with a Peugeot 206 which then crashed into a Mini.

A 60-year-old woman, the driver of the Renault, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment after suffering chest injuries.

PS John Jennings-Wharton of the Road Policing Unit said: “An investigation into how this collision occurred is underway and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the Renault Grande Scenic prior to the collision to contact us.

“I would also urge anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to us to get in touch.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log 911 of August 7th.
