Community Gateway Association has written to Jam Imani Rad stating they are kicking him out.

Jam who has spent 11 years building up the garden – which stretches along a number of plots near the house in Harrington Street – had a letter delivered on Friday.

It states Gateway is seeking possession of the flat and is the first stage of legal proceedings requiring him to give up possession of the flat.

In early July the housing association removed a number of parts of Jam’s garden, which it said breached its rules.

He was due to go to prison for six months, but a custodial term has yet to begin.

A petition calling for Preston’s MP to intervene has more than 6,000 signatures.

The housing association’s chief executive Diane Bellinger has released a video statement about Jam.
