Ben and Holly are coming to Preston

Children’s favourites Ben and Holly from Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom and The Gruffalo will be making appearances at St George’s Shopping Centre during August.

The popular characters form part of a line-up of events taking place at the shopping centre during the school holidays, including free face painting and free balloon models for little shoppers.

Ben and Holly will visit the centre on Saturday 13 August and will appearing during story time sessions, led by a narrator, at intervals between 11am and 4pm.

And, on Saturday 27 August the shopping centre will host a ‘meet and greet’ with The Gruffalo at various intervals between 11am and 4pm.

General manager of St George’s Andrew Stringer said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming both Ben and Holly and The Gruffalo to St George’s this summer – which we are sure will prove to be very popular with shoppers and their children. Our face painter and balloon twister will also be on hand on various days to keep the youngsters entertained.”

The St George’s face painter will be in the centre on Thursday 4 and Saturday 6 August and the balloon twister will be in the centre on Tuesday 16, Thursday 18, Saturday 20 August between 11am and 3pm.

All of the summer activities are free and will be located on the first floor of the shopping centre, close to Friargate entrance.

Previous character events have been very popular and people are advised there may be some queuing necessary on these days. Once each session is at capacity people will be advised to wait for the next slot.
