The Co-Op store in Garstang Road is still trading, despite being due to close down.

A licensing application has now gone in which shows the new owners are planning to restore 24/7 opening.

Spar are understood to be likely to operate the shop once it is re-branded.

Preston City Council has received a licensing application which states the opening hours would be midnight to midnight every day of the week.

It also wants to be able to sell alcohol during these same hours.

The garage, when it was operated by Texaco, used to be 24 hours but The Co-Op reduced the hours when it took over.

The Co-Op had closed down on Saturday 16 July but reopened a few days later with staff being told a legal wrangle had delayed the transfer of the shop.
