A pensioner has been taken to hospital after a crash in Preston.
AdvertisementPreston Police closed part of Tag Lane in Ingol on Saturday morning while emergency services attended to the man.
The driver of a red Nissan Micra was cut free from his car by crews from Preston Fire Station.
Police said the 82-year-old had been taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
A woman who works nearby said: “I was only saying to him the other day he shouldn’t be driving. He comes in every day for his daily bet. I hope he will be okay.”
The car was involved in a collision with a white Ford Transit van, with police saying the pensioner had been taken ill at the wheel. The van driver has no injuries.
Tag Lane, at the junction with Oaktree Avenue, was shut for around two hours from 10.10am on Saturday 23 July.
