Police were maintaining a presence outside a house in Lea.

During Sunday morning a number of police vehicles were outside a property close to the junction of Lea Road with Nelson Road.

A forensics van and officers were seen entering the building and garden of the house.

Preston Police taped off access to the house since around 7am on Sunday 31 July until lunchtime.

The house is close to the Harwoods convenience store.

Unconfirmed reports from nearby residents say there was a ‘serious assault’ against the homeowner.

A van belonging to the national heating and plumbing firm APG Domestic Services can be seen parked in the drive of the house.
