A Longridge van driver has been arrested after an 80-year-old died in a crash in Grimsargh.

Preston Police said the 25-year-old driver had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and possession of a Class A drug.

The pensioner, who was driving a car, died in the collision close to the White Bull pub in Preston Road around 4.45pm on Tuesday (5 July).

The road was closed for around four hours while emergency services worked on the scene.

Witnesses are being sought and should contact the police on 101.
