Hundreds of Muslims have taken part in an annual procession through Fishwick.

Beginning in Waverley Park and making its way to the YMCA in Samuel Street there were road closures in place for the two hour parade.

New Hall Lane was shut from the junction with Hawarden Road to Amhem Road from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Amhem Road, Fishwick Parade and Samuel Street were closed between 2pm and 5pm.

One bystander said they saw men whipping themselves during the course of the procession.

Residents in the area reported double parking down Samuel Street, blocking traffic in the area.
