Preston has a fleeting glimpse of big screen success in the new Nike football advert.
Cristiano Ronaldo and a young lad called Charlie Lee swap places after the former Manchester United player collides with the ballboy during an England versus Portgual game.
Charlie inherits Ronaldo’s silky skills and begins his rise to stardom during The Switch.
He makes his way from grassroots leagues in the Northern divisions through to making his professional debut with Preston North End.
He’s seen in the clip playing and guiding PNE to success before leaving to sign for Manchester City.
It is of course all nonsense, and he collides with Ronaldo during another England v Portgual game and they switch back.
But what would North End give for someone with that kind of footwork come next season?
