Green-fingered Fulwood residents who help look after a small area of woodlands are holding a family-friendly event.

The event on Saturday 9 July is run by the group who keep Highgate Woods, just off Garstang Road, looking spic and span.
Sara Noon from the group said: “We’re raising funds to make improvements to the wood including putting in footpaths to make the area accessible to all.
“We’re also getting the whole community and local scout groups involved in planting native plants and trees to increase biodiversity and working to minimise invasive plants such as Himalayan Balsam.”
Running either side of Savick Brook the woods are owned by United Utilities.
The treasure hunt takes place from 1pm and is £3 per child. All children must be accompanied by an adult and should meet near the postbox in Foregate.
