Sandos takeaway is exposed to the elements after a fire

A Preston city centre takeaway ravaged by fire will not be demolished.

Sandos, at the corner of Church Street and Manchester Road, is ‘no longer considered a dangerous structure’.

A major fire ripped through the building on Thursday (May 5) morning.

It left the roof exposed and signs warning of demolition went up.

The cause of the fire continues to be investigated by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

This was the second time in three years there has been a fire at Sandos, with crews called out in April 2013 to tackle a kitchen fire.
