Preston council election results: Recap updates and reaction

Prestonians are going to the polls to decide another raft of councillors to represent them in wards across the city.

The Labour group currently holds a majority at the Town Hall and we’ll have the run down as Preston City Council announce the results.

Polling stations are open until 10pm on Thursday 5 May and you can also vote for the Police and Crime Commissioner at the same time as a local councillor, if your ward is holding local elections.

18 wards are up for election and you can follow the results as they happen with our live updates below.

The count takes place at Preston Guild Hall from 11pm, we’ll be down there from around 10.30pm and updates will begin around then
