A woman was robbed in Preston city centre during lunchtime on Monday.
AdvertisementThe incident, close to the Tithebarn pub, saw a 21-year-old woman targeted in Lord Street.
She was walking through the pathway towards the grass area ear the pub between 1pm and 2pm on Monday (18 April).
A man approached her from behind and snatched her wallet out of her hand, causing her to fall to the floor.
The victim was left shaken and the wallet contained cash and cards.
DC Azam Khan from Preston CID said: “This robbery was carried out in broad daylight and left the victim extremely shaken. An investigation is underway to find the man responsible and we are checking CCTV in the area.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the incident to contact us.”
The man is described as Asian, around 25 years of age, short dark brown hair, around 6ft tall, medium to large build and was wearing blue jumper and blue tracksuit bottoms.
