A community theatre group is bringing a swashbuckling comedy to a church in Ashton-on-Ribble.

SATA Theatre Company is putting on a performance of Treasure Island during late April.

Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale the show follows young Jim Hawkins as he goes looking for treasure and adventure.

The audience is being encouraged to come in fancy dress and organisers say the show is suitable for children aged seven to 107.

There will be a prize for the best dressed pirate.

The shows at St Andrews Church Hall in Tulketh Road take place on Thursday 28 April (7.30pm), Friday 29 April (7.30pm), Saturday 30 April (2.30pm and 7.30pm).

Tickets are £7 for adults, £5 for children and there’s £1 off if you purchase tickets in advance by calling 07896946904.
