A pregnant woman was left shaken after her car was clipped on a busy motorway near Preston, forcing her into the central reservation.
AdvertisementThe incident during the Friday rush hour saw traffic stopped at the junction of the M61 and M65.
Jennifer Turner, 29, was driving a blue Ford Fiesta and claims she was swiped by a silver Peugeot heading north on the M61, just before the junction with the M65, forcing her into the central reservation.
Highways England and Lancashire Police attended the scene at 6.15pm on Friday to recover the car.
Miss Turner, who lives in Ashton-on-Ribble with her fiance Paul Freeman, was fortunate not to be seriously injured.
Mr Freeman, 31, said: “We have only just got the used car three months ago from a dealer, and found out a month ago we are expecting our first child.
“We borrowed money to buy the car and now we are expecting that the insurance valuation doesn’t cover the loan for the car due to depreciation.
“We are gutted that we will be counting the cost after the other car fled the scene.”
Lancashire Police are appealing for information about the incident, asking them to call them on 101 quoting reference LC-20160415-1523.
