A Preston fast-food drive-thru restaurant is to expand its offering for motorists.
AdvertisementMcDonalds on the Docks is adding an extra order hatch and allowing a new ‘fast forward booth’ to try and ease the tailbacks.
Plans from the American chain to Preston City Council state: “A new fast forward booth will allow for a customer to pull forward to a third booth, if there is a small delay in the order, rather than driving through to the grill bays.
“This allows the traffic flow to be trained through the drive thru lane. Initial studies have found that the inclusion of a fast forward booth reduces the need for grill bays by 85 per cent.”
A goal post height is also due to be installed to limit the size of vehicles entering its drive-thru.
