One resident riled by proposed building planned for the area has taken action.

‘RIP Fulwood. Killed by concrete’ reads the inscription of the sign, which is close to houses being built in Eastway.

The Lancashire Evening Post tracked down Michael Swinburne who installed the declaration.

The 72-year-old said he felt his home of 47 years was being changed beyond recognition.

Fulwood, along with the North West of the city, is to see thousands of new homes built as part of the North West Preston Masterplan.

£430m is being spent on the City Deal, much of which is to go into creating new roads and infrastructure in the area.
