A playing field in Ingol is to have an apartment block built on it.
AdvertisementCommunity Gateway Association has lodged the plans to create 60 affordable extra-care apartments.
The two to three storey blocks are ‘to be let principally to those persons aged over the age of fifty-five and in need of a degree of care.
“In this respect, the housing is designed with the needs of older people in mind, offering vary levels of care and support available on site.”

A courtyard is to be the centerpiece of the development and also have a small cafe on site, which will also be open to nearby residents.
The flats will be one and two bedroom units, with Community Gateway saying Preston has a lack of this type of accommodation.
Documents submitted by PWA Planning on behalf of Gateway tackle the issue of losing an area of open space.
They state Ingol currently has a surplus of green and open spaces of more than 0.8 hectares.
The full plans are available to view on the Preston City Council website and anyone wishing to do so can leave their comments there.
