Aldi taking shape in Queen Street

Preston’s new Aldi supermarket has confirmed when it will open.

Progress has been swift on the Queen Street store off the Ringway.

Confirmation of the discount supermarket taking the main slot in the Queen Street retail park was confirmed in May last year.

Since then the structure has shot up and faces onto the Ringway, with a new access road also being built.

A banner has gone up announcing the store is to open on Thursday 19 May.

It will create tens of jobs in the city and is the first part of the long awaited redevelopment of the former Booths depot site.
