Included in UCLan Through The Ages, which runs for 18 months, are exhibitions, history tours, a local history app and a photography competition.

Student Union President Josie Linsel said: “This project will create exciting new ways for our UCLan students to connect with the history, heritage and communities of Preston and the wider area. I can’t wait to see what the students achieve.”

Anyone wanting to be involved in the history project is asked to follow the Facebook page.

The project is funded by a £49,700 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
