But how should it adapt for the 21st century? Jon Finch has been brought in by Preston City Council to work that out.

You can follow the Q&A live on Facebook, and ask your questions

The building, which includes the museum, art gallery, cafe and library, costs the city council around £1.4m per year to subsidise.

In light of the financial pressures on the Town Hall, which faces receiving no direct government funding by 2020, the city council appointed Jon Finch to oversee a ‘reimagining’ of the building.

Now Blog Preston readers are being asked to tell Jon exactly what they think should be done with the Harris.

We’ll be hosting a live Q&A in the Harris via our Facebook page where YOU can put your questions and ideas directly to the man in charge.

Just log onto the Blog Preston Facebook page from between 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday 29 March and you can get involved.

A major bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund is being prepared as part of the Harris plans, and your questions and ideas could help shape.

If you can’t make the web chat, ask your question or give your comments below and we’ll ask it for you.
