Ashbridge nurseries is planning to open a third nursery school in the Preston area.
AdvertisementLand off Lightfoot Lane could become a new 44 place childrens’ nursery.
The Ashbridge group, which already operates two nurseries in Hutton and Walton-le-Dale, says there is demand from parents in the Cottam area.
Access to the site for the nursery would come from a lane between the Glenroyd and Hope Villa homes.
Plans from the Bramley-Pate + Partners explain the nursery would be well placed for when the East-West Link Road is completed.
They state: “Access at present is from Lightfoot Lane but a new East West Link Road is proposed by Lancashire County Council immediately to the rear of this land, due to be completed in 2017 and although this land includes access from Lightfoot Lane it is proposed that in the long term access is provided from the new link road.”
It goes on the outline how the nursery would be expanded to 120 places once the link road was completed.
The original plan for the nursery was rejected in June last year, and is subject to a planning appeal.
The resubmitted plans include a wider access route into the nursery and scaling back any of the brightly coloured elements of the building.
The full plans are available to view on the city council website and comments can be left there.
