Aldi, being built in the Queen Street retail park, is due to open in late 2016.

Supermarket bosses have lodged an application to be able to sell alcohol from 7am to 11pm seven days a week.

The supermarket has two stores in Preston, at Blackpool Road and Corporation Street.

The Queen Street store looks set to have earlier and later opening hours than their existing stores, which open at 8am and close at 10pm.

Anyone wishing to comment on the Aldi licence should email licensing@preston.gov.uk by Friday 25 March.
