A new discount supermarket opening near Preston city centre has applied to sell alcohol.
AdvertisementAldi, being built in the Queen Street retail park, is due to open in late 2016.
Supermarket bosses have lodged an application to be able to sell alcohol from 7am to 11pm seven days a week.
The supermarket has two stores in Preston, at Blackpool Road and Corporation Street.
The Queen Street store looks set to have earlier and later opening hours than their existing stores, which open at 8am and close at 10pm.

A planning application is currently outstanding for Aldi to resolve some access issues to the Queen Street site.
Anyone wishing to comment on the Aldi licence should email licensing@preston.gov.uk by Friday 25 March.
