The video above shows the brilliant moment a Preston couple got engaged while watching one of their favourite bands in Leeds.

Robbie Marshall proposed to Danielle Chatburn after being invited up on stage by the band for his romantic moment.

The proposal was the result of months of planning after Robbie got in touch with The Used back in October about proposing at their show at Leeds O2 Academy on February 21.

He said: ” I messaged The Used’s Facebook page on messenger (in October) saying how important the album Love and Death is to me and Dani.

“We’ve been listening to it since we got together nine years ago.

“I think nothing is going to happen, I decide to use Christmas morning as the day I will ask her. On that morning I wake up to a message from their page saying they could make it happen in February.”

The two met when they both attended Brownedge St Mary’s High School in Bamber Bridge and have been together ever since.

Robbie was inspired after seeing similar videos on social media and he then decided to do something extraordinary.

He continued: “I got a text half way through the gig to come to the side entrance. The tour manager met us and took us side stage and said we could watch a song from there because I was a friend.

“I still at this point didn’t know how we were coming on if they were going to hand me the mic.

“So after the song finished they brought us on. I was nervous all the way up until I knelt down and then I just felt so happy with what was happening although my microphone skills are not that great.

“It was a crazy, nerve-racking but awesome experience.”

Danielle only realised very late in the whole plan that something was actually going on.

She said: “The guy who met us said he knew Robbie and we could watch a song from the side.

“My suspicion began then but I still didn’t know for certain.

“The song finished and when they asked Robbie to come on I couldn’t believe it I was so nervous.

“When he knelt down I was overwhelmed. It was perfect.”

Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
