A fundraising festival to help those affected by the flood crisis has been planned for Croston.

Preston artists and bands performing at the three-day festival include Subject Voices, Doug Perkins & The Spectaculars, Mick Braithwaite, The Kaleidos, The Elegantly Wasted and Seamus McLoughlin.

Croston was severely hit during the Boxing Day downpours last year.

“We’ve been running the rescue centre but decided the festival would be a good way to raise money for people who were affected by the floods.

“We’ve had a brilliant response so far, with bands and acts from all over Lancashire coming forward to help and donate their time.”

Stuart has set his target high with hopes of raising £10,000, a similar figure raised by a Preston woman through a Crowdfunding page last month.

“Whether we reach that, I don’t know.

“Lots of places had to close after the floods and it would be great to put money back into them. It’s about bringing the community back together.”

All money raised from wristband sales will go straight to Croston Flood Relief.

Wristbands can be purchased for £5 which will grant access to all venues and performances.

The festival takes place from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 February.
