Police are warning motorists of temporary parking restrictions due to Saturday’s protest by the English Defence League.
AdvertisementThe far-right group are to demonstrate in Birley Street, near the Outdoor Market, and a number of roads will not be available to those wanting to park.
These include:
– Lancaster Road, on the covered market side
– Earl Street
– Bishopsgate
– Old Vicarage
– Tithebarn Street
– Harris Street
Lancashire Roads Police said the restrictions would be in place from late Friday evening until late Saturday afternoon.

The EDL are assembling at the Blackamoor Head pub in Lancaster Road before being escorted by police round to their allocated protest area.
The rally is due to take place between 11am and 3pm. Between 12noon and 2pm a Community Celebration Day is taking place on the Flag Market organised by mosque leaders, trade unions and Preston City Council.
