Skeffington Road was shut for part of Tuesday afternoon

An arson investigation has begun after a fire at a car garage in Deepdale.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Skeffington Road shortly after 4pm on Tuesday.

Five fire crews put out the blaze after battling it for around two hours.

Police closed part of Skeffington Road, near Basil Street, while the fire crews brought it under control.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “We are treating the cause of the fire as suspicious and we will be working closely with Lancashire Police to establish the cause.”
