Update: Preston Police confirm they have found Doreen Smithson.

Preston Police say they have found Doreen Smithson’s car as the search for the missing woman continues.

The car was found on West Cliff, just off Fishergate Hill, in Preston.

Smithson, 64, was last seen at an address in Ratten Lane on Sunday morning.

Insp Paul McLernon of Preston Police said: “We would ask anyone who was in this area yesterday morning around 1030am to get in touch if you saw anyone matching Doreen’s description.

“Doreen’s family are extremely concerned about her disappearance and just want her home.

“We are carrying out extensive searches for Doreen, so you may see Police activity in the area of Avenham Park and Fishergate Hill.”

She is described as white, around 5ft 5ins, with dark, curly, bobbed hair and could be wearing a black top, a dark quilted jacket and striped pants.
