Two city parks are to host free walking events for those looking to stretch their legs in the New Year.

Moor Park and Haslam Park are the venues for the New Year Stride Outs.

On Saturday 2 January the Moor Park event begins from the bowling pavilion at 10.30am.

The two hour walk includes a chance to meet the Friends of Moor Park group and find out from rangers about the restoration works.

Haslam Park’s stride out is from 2pm on Sunday 3 January.

Meet at the bowling pavilion to discover more about the park.

Both walks need suitable footwear and finish with light refreshments.

There’s no need to book and both events are free.
