Heavy rain in Preston is likely to continue into Tuesday, according to the Met Office.
AdvertisementTorrential rain on Saturday evening saw large amounts of standing water on roads.
Further spells of rain are likely to affect Preston between the hours of 12.15am and 6pm on Tuesday.
The chief forecaster for the Met Office said: “Rainfall totals of 20 to 40 mm are likely quite widely – this falling during a relatively short period of Tuesday morning across Scotland and bringing a risk of surface water flooding.
“Similar amounts of rain are likely across Wales and northwest England where locally 60-80 mm is possible over prone hilly areas, so some localised flooding is likely across sensitive areas.”
The localised issues are more likely in areas still vulnerable following recent floods.
