The car fire near the Tickled Trout hotel Pic: Hussain Master

Investigations are continuing into the cause of a fire which set a car ablaze on the A59 in Preston.

Shoppers leaving Preston for the 5pm rush on Bank Holiday Monday were halted briefly due to the fire in Brockholes Brow, just before the Tickled Trout hotel.

Firefighters from Longridge attended the fire and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the fire.

No injuries were reported and Preston Police said traffic was only stopped for a short period of time.
