Teenage boy in hospital after Ashton-on-Ribble collision

Police are continuing to investigate a collision in Ashton-on-Ribble on Saturday afternoon.

A 14-year-old boy has been left in hospital with a broken leg after the incident.

Preston Police were called to Abbey Street at 5pm to reports of a collision.

A police spokesman said: “It is believed a silver Renault Megane collided with a 14-year-old boy.

“The teenager suffered a suspected broken leg and was treated at Royal Preston Hospital.

“The 55-year-old driver of the Megane was uninjured and has reported the matter to police. Inquiries are continuing.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
