Preston City Council issues warning against fraudulent calls

Beware calls from those pretending to be Preston City Council

Preston City Council have issued a warning after a number of fraudulent calls were reported.

Some people in Preston have received calls from either 002083000045 or a withheld number claiming to be Preston City Council.

The council have confirmed that these calls are in no way linked to them and warned against giving away any personal information over the phone.

They also provided a link to help those suffering from unwanted calls.

One of the pieces of advice found when you follow that link is to join the Telephone Preference Service. This should protect you from some callers.
