The celebration began at the Flag Market shortly after lunchtime on Saturday

A weekend-long celebration by Preston’s Hindu community began with a parade through the city centre.

Preston Mandir Mahotsav temple is being brought back into use after a major fundraising campaign.

Colourful dresses and outfits brought a ray of sunshine to a wet and gloomy day.

Events run throughout the weekend as the restored temple is blessed and declared open again for use.
