Patisserie Valerie is going to be calling Preston home as it moves into one of the city shopping centres.
AdvertisementA unit at the Friargate entrance to the St George’s Shopping Centre is to be converted into the cafe and cake shop.
Up to 20 new jobs will be created when the 2,300 square foot outlet is included.
Paul May, CEO at Patisserie Holdings, said: “We’re really excited about opening our Preston café, especially as it’s our first to open in Lancashire.
“Customers have been asking us to come to the city for a while now, and we believe St George’s Shopping Centre is the perfect place to open as it’s accessible to so many. We hope the people of Preston enjoy our new store.”
It marks the second upmarket signing for the shopping centre in recent months as jeweler Swarovski was signed up.
General manager of St George’s Shopping Centre, Andrew Stringer, said: “Welcoming Patisserie Valerie to St George’s demonstrates the centre’s ability to attract leading brands.
“Patisserie Valerie is renowned across the UK for its eye catching window displays of cakes and tasty treats which I’m sure will be popular for those with a sweet tooth.”
The cafe is due to open in Preston on Thursday 22 October.
