Riley is heading to Albert Square

Riley Carter Millington is due to make his first appearance on popular British Soap EastEnders later this month.

Riley, former student of the University of Central Lancashire, will be the first transgender actor to play a transgender character in a recurring role in the UK.

EastEnders is set to introduce Riley’s character Kyle, a young, transgender man, later this month.

The 21 year old will make a brief appearance in the programme in October and is set to be “thrown into one of the biggest stories for the end of the year.” The character will return later in the year in a major new storyline.

Dominic Treadwell Collins, EastEnders’ executive producer, describes the character as “fresh and relatable” with “his own stock of secrets.”
