A new cafe could be coming to Fishergate in what used to be the old Nationwide building society.

Sprint Properties has bought 91 Fishergate from the banking group and is looking to add a new restaurant or cafe to it.

Cassidy + Ashton Group have applied to Preston City Council for a change of use.

A spokeswoman for the group said the change of use was to allow their client to market the site.

The former Nationwide unit sits in the revamped section of Fishergate down towards the railway station.

In March 2014 the building society moved to a larger unit at 41 Fishergate.
