Woman in hospital after New Hall Lane collision

An elderly woman is in a serious condition in hospital after a collision with a taxi.

The 62-year-old was injured when she was crossing New Hall Lane.

She was hit by a Volkswagen Passat near the Texaco garage, and has suffered a number of broken bones.

Preston Police closed the road around 12.20am on Tuesday for a number of hours.

Sgt 3847 Claire Pearson from the Road Policing Unit said: “This woman has suffered life threatening injuries and so we need anyone who may have seen this incident to come forward with any information.”
