PoliceĀ are appealing for witnesses after a woman was left with serious injuries following a collision with a bus in Grimsargh.
The incident happened at 12.40pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 16 September) when the 71 year old woman was cycling along Longridge Road in the direction of Longridge. As she crossed the road near to the pedestrian crossing, she was involved in a collision with a double decker bus which was also travelling towards Longridge. The cyclist suffered serious injuries to her neck and chest and was taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
The road was closed for two hours to facilitate an investigation.
Sgt David Hurst of the Road Policing Unit said: āAn investigation is already underway to establish how this collision occurred and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened and has not yet spoken to us to get in touch.ā
