Tanterton’s Community Centre looks to be set for a secure future after a successful first year being run by local residents.

Preston City Council is being asked to stump up a further £9,510 to the Tanterton Village Centre Limited (TVCLtd).

The community centre’s future was thrown into doubt in October 2013 when the city council said it would struggle to keep the doors open.

TVCLtd passed an annual review by council officers, although it says it hasn’t been able to open the centre’s doors as much as it would like.

In total £35,700 is due to be handed over to the company to run the community centre during a five year period.

They also don’t have to pay rent to use the building.
