Preston Business Improvement District has announced plans for a Purple Party in the Flag Market.

The event promises to have a high-profile headline performer and celebrates the city holding a Purple Flag for a good and safe night out.

BID manager Mark Whittle said: “We have something truly spectacular planned for this year’s Prestfest and although we don’t want to give too much away just yet, it really will be unmissable.

“The principle of the event is to encourage patrons to visit earlier for something special and a little different, therefore providing a welcome swell of customers in January.

“The performers have been selected to ensure that we appeal to a broad audience.”

The event is due to take place on Saturday 30 January.
