A Preston woman has been robbed and sexually assaulted in the city centre.
AdvertisementThe victim was walking home past the Guild Hall towards the Flag Market when she was followed by two men.
As the 20-year-old woman headed along a footpath towards the Ringway, at around 4am on Saturday 5 September, she was still being followed by two men.
She continued to Lawson Street, past Preston Magistrates Court, when one of the men approached her and snatched her handbag.
Both men then ran off, before 10 minutes later one of the two men returned with the hangbag.
He then forced the woman to touch him inappropriately.
DC 3082 Rachael Ashcroft from Preston CID said “This was terrible attack on a young woman making her way home after a night out. To have not only been robbed but also sexually assaulted must have been terrifying.
“If you saw a woman wearing a black and white dress carrying a white carrier bag being followed or you have any information about this incident at all, please get in contact with us at your earliest opportunity.”
The first man is described as Middle Eastern or Eastern European in appearance, around 5ft 4ins tall with black hair and of slim build. He was wearing a wet look black jacket with a hood.
The second man is also described as is described as Middle Eastern or Eastern European in appearance, with black hair, 5ft 6 ins tall, slim build and wearing a light grey jumper.
