Preston Pride 2015 returns this month after the event splashed colour all over the Flag Market last year, in a bid to celebrate diversity in the city.
AdvertisementThe event on Saturday September 26 will bring to life their statement of “Bigger Louder Prouder Preston” with a packed line up for everyone to watch or take part in.
The Pride committee will kick off the day with opening speeches at 12pm, which will soon be followed by acts such as Black Lace, Kelly Wilde, Discover Got Talent and a RuPride DragRace Catwalk.
Prior to the festival, on Friday September 25 a Pride movie will be shown in the Mitchell and Kenyon Theatre at UCLan at 6.30pm.
The festival brings together the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Preston. Throughout the year, it also gathers fundraisers and sponsors to promote its efforts.
Sponsors this year include UCLan, Lancashire Constabulary, Preston City Council and Lancashire County Council as well as smaller organisations including Disability Equality North West.
The event is also looking for volunteer Pride Makers to help in the running of the event. For more information, visit their website here, or contact info@prestonpride.com.
