What was part of the Goss printing press site in Preston has been demolished.
AdvertisementGiant cranes and diggers were in Greenbank Street close to the University throughout Sunday to rip down the building.
The site which once employed hundreds of Prestonians has been bought by the University of Central Lancashire.
It is due to become a temporary car park for the next two years to ease parking problems around the university campus.
Richard Richmond posted these pictures to the Preston Past and Present Facebook group.
He was part of a small crowd who gathered to see the walls come tumbling down.
Paul Christopher Hunter said: “Me and my Dad used to print there. We couldn’t believe how enormous the company was. Plants all over the world.”
Janet Battersby said: “So sad. My husband, two of his brothers and his Dad all worked there. Nothing left in Preston now for engineers.”
