19 year woman assaulted in Preston

PoliceĀ are trying to trace any potential witnesses after a 19-year-woman was assaulted in the early hours of Wednesday morning (16th September) in Preston.

At around 4am, the woman has been walking home and when she has reached Garstang Road near to the junction with St Georgeā€™s Road, a man has made a number of inappropriate sexual comments to her before subjecting her to a sexual assault.

She has managed to hit him to the head and he then made off towards the petrol station on Garstang Road with a carrier bag, possibly with a glass bottle inside.

DS Jerry Sturgess of Preston CID said: ā€œThis was a frightening attack on a young student who was been left very shaken up following this worrying ordeal.

ā€œIf anyone has any information about this, I would urge them to come forward.ā€

The man is described as Asian, late 30s to 40s, around 5ft 6ins, of small build with slightly curly short dark hair. He was possibly driving a small dark coloured car
