UCLan has achieved a milestone ranking as it came in the top 3.8% of all worldwide universities.
AdvertisementIt is the first time the city’s university has broken the top 4% barrier, giving the institution a global boost of its reputation and success.
The figures were released by The Centre for World University Rankings 2015 which saw UCLan reach 939 out of approximately 25,000 universities across the world.
UCLan was awarded its high ranking by measuring various categories including Quality of Faculty where the number of academics who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals was considered and also Quality of Education which looked at alumni successes relative to the size of the university.
Other categories that were also commended include alumni employment and the number of highly-cited research papers.
Professor Gai Murphy, UCLan Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Student Experience, said, “It’s great news for the University that we’ve broken into this list for the first time. It’s a fantastic achievement to be among the world’s top higher education institutions and one we’re very proud of.
“This rating not only highlights the steps we’ve made in providing all our students with real-world learning experiences but it reflects the opportunities that are available to all our academics.”
